Refund and Returns Policy

At Diaspora Essentials, your satisfaction is important to us. This Refund & Returns Policy complies with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

1. Australian Consumer Guarantees

Under the ACL, you are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement if a product you purchase from us:

  • is faulty or defective,
  • is not as described,
  • is not fit for the purpose we stated, or
  • fails to meet acceptable quality standards.

This applies regardless of our change-of-mind policy.

2. Change of Mind Returns

  • We accept returns for change of mind within 14 days of receiving your order.
  • Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in resalable condition.
  • Change-of-mind returns are at your own shipping expense. Refunds will exclude original shipping costs.

3. Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and safety reasons, certain items cannot be returned unless faulty:

  • Opened or used beauty products, oils, or scents.
  • Gift cards.
  • Sale or clearance items.

4. How to Request a Return

To request a return or refund:

  1. Email contact@diasporaessentials.com with your order number and reason for return.
  2. For faulty or damaged products, include clear photos.
  3. Our team will provide return instructions within 2 business days.

5. Refunds

  • Approved refunds will be processed back to your original payment method.
  • Please allow 5–10 business days for your bank or payment provider to process the refund.
  • If you return an item due to our error (e.g., wrong item, faulty product), we will cover return shipping costs.

6. Exchanges

Where possible, we are happy to exchange items. Exchanges are subject to product availability.

7. Shipping Costs

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns.
  • We recommend using a trackable service. We are not responsible for lost return parcels.
